Smithtown House Fire 98 Sunrise Lane (5/3/2017)

The Smithtown Fire Department responded to a house fire at 98 Sunrise Lane in Smithtown on the evening of May 3, 2017. Upon arrival of firefighters a heavy fire condition was present on the first and second floor of the large frame private dwelling. A propane tank on the rear deck exploded and caused a fire which heavily damaged the home. Mutual aid companies from Kings Park, Saint James and Hauppauge Fire Departments were called to the scene to assist. The Smithtown Fire Marshal and Suffolk Police were on scene investigating the cause.
