Westbury FD House Fire 243 Sheridan Street (11/21/2022)

The Westbury Fire Department responded to a house fire at 243 Sheridan Street in New Cassel on Monday November 21, 2022, at 6:51 am. The home which was vacant and being utilized by a homeless male. Due to the cold temperatures, it appeared a fire might have been set to keep warm. Initial reports advised responding units of a possible victim trapped inside. Mutual aid companies from Hicksville, Jericho, Carle Place and Mineola responded to the scene. Luckily the lone occupant was able to safely evacuate without injury. The Nassau Police and Fire Marshal were on scene investigating.
